Laser hair removal

Are you tired of constantly shaving and dealing with unwanted hair on your body? If so, laser hair removal just might be the thing for you! Of course, there might be a better option for you. Some of those options might be shaving, bleaching, tweezing or waxing. Each of these has their ups and downs but might be better for you.

Laser hair removal is my personal favorite method for getting rid of unsightly hair. Shaving and waxing are cheaper and more commonly used alternatives, but they both suffer from some drawbacks that laser hair removal doesn’t have.

First of all, when you shave you leave behind stubble. Depending on how thick your hairs are, that stubble may range from being only slightly noticeable, to being like a dark shadow. What’s worse, it grows back immediately. While it’s actually a myth that shaving causes hair to grow back thicker and faster, it will certainly start growing back the moment you shave it.

Waxing gets rid of hair for a longer period of time, and leaves behind little or no stubble. Waxing is generally much more time intensive than shaving, however, and unless you do it yourself it is much more expensive. Even the do it yourself kits will run you more than a razor and some shaving cream. To boot, waxing is pretty unpleasant!

Laser hair removal, on the other hand, is much less painful and much more permanent. Laser hair removal can remove unwanted hairs for periods of five to ten years, possibly longer. The only real down side to laser hair removal is that it’s the most expensive method, and therefore generally not feasible for large areas of the body.

Laser hair removals work by the beams of light they produce. They apply the laser device to your skin causing it to get hot. This heat damages the follicle and keeps it from growing in the future.

One of the requirements for laser hair removal is that your hair is darker than your skin. Laser hair removal is also not recommended for naturally dark people because too much laser energy is absorbed into their skin. If you tan it also recommended you do not have laser hair removal done. You can wait until your tan is gone and then proceed.

Not only is laser hair removal an excellent way to get rid of unwanted hair in a nearly permanent fashion, it is a fun thing to do on a first date. I’m always looking for new and interesting ideas on how to have a good time on a first date, and then one day it just dawned on me that getting unwanted, unsightly hairs burned off of your body by way of very small lasers with a date is a great way to get to know each other. I tried it for the first time three years ago with a lovely (and very hairy) girl named Frank, and we are now happily married.

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of a stretch. Laser hair removal may not be a fun thing to do ON a date, but you may want to seriously consider it BEFORE going on one. If you have a bit of a ‘unibrow’ like I did, get it zapped off and in no time at all it’ll look like you never had one. Or, if you are a woman that suffers from especially dark facial hair, laser hair removal maybe your answer.
